McKEESPORT, Pa. — Allegheny County officials marked the completion of renovations at the Allegheny County Health Department office located at 339 Fifth Avenue in McKeesport.
The updated facility was redesigned to modernize public health infrastructure and improve physical accessibility for local residents seeking community health services.
The renovated office consolidates several public health offerings into a single site, including WIC nutrition assistance, pediatric dental care, sexual health services, drug screening and plumbing services.
According to county officials, integrating these programs under one roof aims to eliminate barriers for individuals, families and communities throughout McKeesport and surrounding areas.
“This is what it looks like when government invests directly in the health of a community,” Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato said. “We are removing barriers that should never have stood between residents and the services they need. Whether someone is pushing a stroller, has mobility challenges or simply needs a welcoming place to get help, access should never depend on how easy it is to navigate an outdated building. Public health should be accessible to everyone and it should be delivered with dignity.”
