A second daily roundtrip train on Amtrak’s Pennsylvanian line will begin service soon.
The second daily Pennsylvanian train service trip, a 444-mile route between Pittsburgh and New York, starts on Nov. 18.
Tickets for the expanded service will be available this week and are being sold through Amtrak’s website and mobile app. Trains on the line feature coach and business-class seating, onboard Wi-Fi and café service offering Pennsylvania-inspired menu items.
Rob Gleason, an Amtrak board member and chair of the System Growth Committee, highlighted the expanded schedule.
“This second daily round trip will provide greater flexibility, strengthen connections across Pennsylvania and demonstrate the value of strong partnerships in growing passenger rail,” Gleason said.
The passenger service links Pennsylvania from east to west and connects with the Floridian route for travel to Cleveland, Chicago and points beyond. The rail line also joins key shipping terminals in Toledo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and the Lehigh Valley.
