LATROBE, Pa. — Some students at Saint Vincent College want a campus security officer removed after an incident last week.
Nahaylo Clavel is a freshman at Saint Vincent.
“I was honestly shook, and I was scared. Not only scared for me but also scared for my friend,” Clavel said.
He says he and his friends were watching the Steelers game when a dorm prefect said they smelled marijuana near their pod.
He says the situation escalated when campus security was called in to do a search and some of his friends did not consent to a pat-down.
“His hands were [raised] high to the sky, and he also stated that he did not want to get patted down. The officer heard that as well and had the audacity to grip him up by his shirt, where his chest area was.”
Clavel says at some point, the officer jumped on one friend’s back, and his friend ran because he was scared.
Clavel says even after the search, no marijuana was found.
