NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Westminster College was under a shelter in place order Tuesday night after reports of possible gunshots on campus.
Officials with the college said the shelter in place order was put into place around 7:45 p.m.
Multiple law enforcement agencies were on campus and determined the gunshots were not fired on campus, but instead in a nearby backyard and the sound echoed on school grounds.
An all-clear message was sent out around 9:48 p.m.
