CHURCHILL, Pa. — Two Woodland Hills school directors resigned from their positions.
The board accepted the resignations of Terri Lawson and Laura Arthrell during a meeting on Wednesday.
Lawson is accused of spending $10,000 with a credit card belonging to Rankin while she was borough manager.
The charges are not related to her work on the Woodland Hills school board, and she has not been convicted of any crime.
Director Arthrell is leaving for very different reasons. She submitted her resignation last week.
She tells Channel 11 her reason for leaving, saying:
“My husband of 40 years died in June. It’s been a very difficult time for me, especially since we lost a daughter in 2023. I need to take care of myself.”
The resignations come at a tumultuous time for the school district.
Last week, beloved head football coach Brian Tarrant was suspended from coaching for the next year after allegations were made that he violated WPIAL guidelines.

In August, the board voted to terminate the then-superintendent Joe Maluchnik.
Both Lawson and Arthrell voted in favor of removing Maluchnik.
