Man arrested after allegedly leaving gun at local Taco Bell, threatening to shoot people

NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. — A man is behind bars after police say he left a gun in the bushes of a local Taco Bell, and posted a live video to Facebook claiming he was going to carjack, shoot, and kill people.

“Who’s ready to die tonight? Because I’m ready to die tonight,” Drake Thomas is heard saying in a Facebook Live video on his public profile posted Tuesday.

Thomas is now behind bars after police said he was trying to break into business late Tuesday night.

According to court documents, police were initially called to the Goodwill in Norwin Hills shopping plaza where they say Thomas was shouting and pulling on doors.

While police were there, they got a call that the manager at Taco Bell said a man had just come in, dropped a shell casing, and left behind a gun in the bushes.

In another portion of the video on Facebook, Thomas is heard threatening to carjack, rob, and shoot people if they’re in their cars.

“If they’re in their car they’re going to sleep permanently,” Thomas said.

Police say the gun found at Taco Bell had a loaded magazine, but no loaded rounds.

When police found Thomas, he was on the porch of Antonelli’s Event Center. The restaurant was closed.

Once in custody, police said they found a second gun on Thomas. That gun was loaded.

Thomas also allegedly urinated in his cell, kicked the mattress, and said he was going to kill it.

Thomas is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison. He’s due in court July 19.
