3 schools in Baldwin-Whitehall district told to shelter in place due to potential threat

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. — Three schools in the Baldwin-Whitehall district were placed on a “shelter in place” status on Wednesday afternoon, according to the superintendent.

A Facebook post by the district said officials were told about a potential safety threat.

Whitehall Elementary School, McAnnulty Elementary School and J.E. Harrison Education Center sheltered in place as a result of the potential threat.

Dismissal for these schools will take place as normal on Wednesday afternoon.

District officials have not given any additional details about the potential threat.
