MONROEVILLE, Pa. — Eight people, including five students, were taken to a hospital after a crash involving a Gateway School District bus and an SUV.
The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Monroeville Boulevard near the Target and Giant Eagle.
Our crews on scene could see one SUV on its side and a small school bus with damage to the front being towed away from the scene.
A representative for the Gateway School District said that the five students on board the bus were taken to Forbes Hospital as a precautionary measure and did not sustain any significant injuries.
Monroeville police said two adults on the school bus and an adult in the SUV were also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“We extend our sincere thanks to first responders for their swift action, which ensured the safety and well-being of everyone involved,” the school district representative said.
