Largest Lottery prize in history up for grabs with record $1.9 billion Powerball jackpot

PITTSBURGH — The people Channel 11 talked to say they have 1.9 billion reasons to buy a Powerball ticket.

The longer we go without getting a jackpot, the more the money builds.

In the last few years, there have been more billion-dollar jackpots than in the past.

We’ve seen five in the last few years.

Officials added number combinations that made your odds go from 1-in-175 million to 1-in-almost-300-million.

Pennsylvania is one of four states that have won the most lottery money.

The people 11 News spoke with while they bought tickets said they have big plans if they win tonight.

“Probably pay off my house would be my first big purchase,” said Grant McDonald of Ross Township.

“Honestly, most of it would go to investments, some of it charity. I would be set up the rest of my life and I’m good to go,” said Cameron Palmer of Emsworth.

“I’d buy a super yacht, I’d buy a Lambo, and I’d buy a mansion. Yes sir,” said Mike Allain from Coraopolis.

The last time someone won the jackpot was August 3, and tonight’s drawing will be the 41st Powerball drawing since then.
