PITTSBURGH — Emergency crews responded to the scene of a fire at the former Beltzhoover Elementary School Tuesday evening.
The call for the fire along Cedarhurst Street came in around 8 p.m.
The fire could be seen from Channel 11′s Tower Cam. Thick, black smoke was seen pouring into the air.
The fire started in a first-floor classroom, according to a captain on scene. Pittsburgh police say the fire caused “significant damage to the room.
This is the second fire in the past week at the same building. There was also a fire in a first floor room on Saturday.
No one was hurt in either fire.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause and anyone with information or video of the fire should contact investigators at 412-782-7646.
