McKeesport woman killed, 3 injured after crash on Route 22 in Indiana County

INDIANA COUNTY — One person is dead and three others were injured after a crash on Route 22 in Indiana County.

The crash occurred Sunday at the intersection of William Penn Highway and Bethel Cemetery Road near Clyde.

Brianna Sage Shaffer, 20, of McKeesport, was identified by the Indiana County Coroner as the person killed in the crash.

Officials say Shaffer was driving a Honda Civic in the westbound lanes when she lost control of the vehicle. It went over the median into the eastbound lanes and hit a Toyota Tacoma.

Shaffer was pronounced dead at the scene. All three people in the Toyota were taken to Conemaugh Hospital to be treated for injuries.

Both vehicles were completely disabled.

Route 22 was reduced to only one lane open on both sides as emergency crews responded.
