PENN HILLS, Pa. — The Penn Hills School District has averted a potential strike.
In a letter Tuesday, Superintendent John Mozzocio said the district has reached a tentative agreement with the Educational Support Professionals union.
The union — which represents paraprofessionals, secretaries and computer technicians — had voted to authorize a strike last month during contract negotiations. The district said the strike could affect the start of the school year.
“We appreciate the work of everyone involved in reaching this agreement and are grateful for the patience and understanding of our staff, families and community throughout the negotiation process,” Mozzocio said.
The district is now focused on preparing for the 2026-2027 school year, according to the letter.
