Pennsylvania State Police are looking into a message posted on social media that threatened violence at a high school.
According to state police in Westmoreland County, a message threatening to carry out a shooting at “Central High School” was posted on Snapchat. Police say the threat isn’t believed to be credible.
Additionally, troopers say the same threat circulated in the state of New York in 2021.
Still, out of caution, there is an increased presence of troopers in the region.
Students and parents who learn of threatening or suspicious activity are asked to report it to police immediately via the Safe2SaySomething program.
