Steelers’ T.J. Watt talks about viral slip into pool, goals for 2023 season

PITTSBURGH — You may have seen a video on social media of Steelers star T.J. Watt falling into the pool.

As he was trying to clean his pool, he slipped and fell right into the water.

Channel 11′s Jenna Harner talked to Watt at OTAs on Thursday about the viral slip-up and his lofty goals for the coming season.

Watt assured everyone that he is OK. He wasn’t injured during the fall and he’s excited to be back on the field with his teammates.

“Yes, I am good. I don’t know how I missed the step but I did and a lesser athlete would have got hurt,” Watt said. “So I mean, the only reason I posted it is because I wasn’t hurt. It was all in good fun and I put in the group chat and they’re like, ‘It’s too funny not to post, so you might as well just post it.’”

Watt was asked what his main goal is for the coming season. He kept it short and sweet, saying “We’re trying to win a super bowl.”
