‘What a loss’: Woman hit, killed by shuttle bus in Oakland being remembered

PITTSBURGH — Channel 11 is learning more about the Point Park University graduate and UPMC employee who was hit by a UPMC shuttle bus earlier this week.

Emily Watson died at the hospital, after bystanders tried to save her life by giving her CPR

“This morning when I heard it was confirmed, it just broke my heart,” Dr. PK Weston said.

Dr. PK Weston was Emily’s professor at Point Park, and couldn’t believe that her former student died in such a tragic way.

“I thought about her mother. I’m a mother myself. I can’t imagine what she’s going through right now,” she added.

We asked UPMC about the circumstances surrounding the crash and the training shuttle drivers receive, but a spokesperson said they are still gathering information, and won’t be commenting any further.
