Cara Sapida joined the Channel 11 News team in April 2009. Before landing a job in her hometown of Pittsburgh, Cara worked as a reporter for NBC-2 in Fort Myers, Florida, and as an anchor/reporter for NBC25 in Hagerstown, Maryland. She kicked off her broadcasting career reporting and anchoring for WOUB-TV in Athens, Ohio. Cara received an Edward R. Murrow award for Best Feature Story, as well as an AP award for tornado coverage. Cara is a Pittsburgh native and a proud graduate of Woodland Hills High School. She holds a journalism degree from Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism, with minors in French and political science. When she’s not working, reading or traveling, you can find Cara in the kitchen. She was in the 2010 Pillsbury Bake-Off Contest.
